Andy has been a Designer and Marketeer throughout his working life, originally training as a Product Designer at the University of Huddersfield receiving a BSc (Hons) in Product Design, Andy has always had a passion for design. During his education Andy studied all aspects of Design and Engineering from the environmental impact through to designing for manufacture. This early training developed his understanding of different materials and processes and their impact on design, ultimately winning a furniture design competition in his 2nd year of studies, and so sparking his interest in furniture and workplace design. Andy has worked in a number of furniture manufacturers across the UK, from seating through to desking and storage and even time spent designing bars and restaurant interiors. As a Product Designer, Andy has worked with at a high level with large BlueChip clients throughout his career, including Williams F1, The Construction Confederation and numerous Government contracts. A natural progression from designing products was to move into Interior Design and Space Planning, working with clients to provide a full design solution. Andy has designed products and interior solutions for brands such as Cadence Design, BBH and Mars. For Flexiform, Andy helped design and plan offices for clients such as Gambling Commission and Barnsley Council as well as assist in designing products and laying out literature. As Flexiform has grown in size, Andy expanded the Design and Marketing team to include Space Planners & Interior Designers, Digital Marketing Executives, Graphic Designers and Social Media Experts. His experience and knowledge leads the team in creating quality and relevant designs across Flexiform and it’s sister company Asgard Secure Steel Storage. Andy is one of the central points of the business, using his knowledge, skills, connections and experience to assist in all areas of the business from Engineering & Product Design to Sales and Production. Andy has excellent product and service knowledge and with such a varied career Andy is well suited to writing about trends within the industry, providing a unique insight into the industry from the perspective of a Designer, a Marketeer and an end user.
