Helen Scott was on hand with a supply of tea and biscuits for the guys as they built the unit that will keep her bikes safe and secure, in her backyard. The Manchester Velodrome where Helen trains is 9 miles away from her home, and the Team GB cyclist told us that she cycles to and from training every day. We even got to look at her medals, which made Andy’s day, as he is a very keen cyclist.
Helen had also kindly arranged for her team mates to sign a number of plaques, which will be used in conjunction with our charitable work with Kirkwood Hospice. The Hospice provides specialist care and support for the terminally ill.
Signatures include Paralympic medallist Sophie Thornhill and GB Paracycling Strength and Conditioning Coach, Katy Marchant. Altogether we have over a couple of dozen cycling team autographs, with Elinor Barker getting her teammates to contribute to the signing of the plaques as well.
You can win the signed shed by donating to Kirkwood Hospice here – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Flexiform-CDW17-Raffle. Remember to leave your name and state which prize you’d like to win.
