Flexiform is pleased to announce the refurbishment of the London Showroom and Sale Hub. The revamped show space reflects Flexiform’s current product ranges and services. The London hub plays a key role in Flexiform’s nationwide presence, providing easy access for many of our clients including Government bodies, education organisations, and architectural practices.
Located in the heart of Clerkenwell, our London showroom was redesigned by our in-house Interior Designer, Nadia Al-Chalaby, inspired by the reminiscence of the industrial revolution.
Clerkenwell used to be the heart of Industrial London but after the revolution, companies of scale left to find larger manufacturing plants, leaving behind impressive warehouses now converted into design agencies and flats. Clerkenwell now features London’s highest concentration of architects, designers, and manufacturers.
“Clerkenwell has such a rich culture and history, conveying this through the materiality of the showroom was fundamental in the new design, neutral tones paired with hues of greens and oranges create an unbiased backdrop to compliment the exposed concrete and natural oak flooring.”
– Nadia Al-Chalaby, Interior Designer.
Our first-floor showroom on Gee Street features Wienerberger Terre Dorée brickwork together with exposed concrete walls and ceiling, and a light oak wooden floor gives reference to the district’s rich history.
Light yet distinctive colour pallets are present throughout demarcating various workplace scenarios. Orange hues and warm leathers work in harmony with lighter natural shades, creating an unbiased backdrop for accents of colour and biophilic influences. Modern grey tones and solid oaks were specified for surfaces throughout, showcasing our laminate and wood finishes, whilst khaki, green and blue paint finishes are used on frames.
Combinations of our popular products, together with hand-picked items from our main suppliers were selected to create a holistic approach to each space. Upon entering the showroom, you are greeted by a soft seating area separated from the rest of the showroom by a grid shelving system. This area boasts seating from our specialist partners showing luxurious yet affordable ranges, all upholstered with sustainable fabrics.
An element of biophilic trends is present in our London Hub with the usage of our Storage Planters. These Planters are designed to sit above existing storage units and add a touch of greenery and nature to the office.
Parallel to the large windows, our Pico office bench desk and Jot-Up sit/standing desk create a popular office configuration for visitors to see, try, and test. Pico is finished with rectangular loop legs, khaki frame, and white 25mm MFC top with contrasting oak edging. The ergonomic desk set-up is complete with on-desk electrics, task lighting, office pedestals, desk mounted screens, monitor arms, and task chairs. This is surrounded by our Freestor office tambour storage and Freestor Accent office lockers in a range of sizes, locks, and finishes.
“The showroom is a mixture of popular product combinations alongside examples of collaborative and agile workspaces, giving clients the opportunity to try and test office furniture they may have seen in the office design proposals created by our in-house teams.”
– Andy Heath, Flexiform Marketing Manager
Further down the showroom, there is a mixture of collaborative and breakout areas to demonstrate different pockets of workspaces. Behind the shelving grid, Our Wilson table and Valido chairs demonstrate an informal 1-2-1 catch-up space, while opposite a square configuration of mid-height Freestor storage units with oversailing tops and stools create a collaborative workspace.
A popular product in our showroom is the various Pods. These Pods are designed to create a room within a room and work perfectly in an open-plan office. The pods have acoustic backs which make them sound-absorbing, reducing any distracting noises emitting from the rest of the open-plan office. Additionally, they aid in breaking up the room, making each workspace distinctive.
Smaller collaboration and meeting spaces are provided by our Additions pedestal base tables and Parq bench tables, creating various types of versatile office spaces, including dining, meeting, collaboration, and breakout areas. In addition, a selection of sofas and solid wood coffee tables with freestanding lighting provides another type of relaxed informal breakout space.
Throughout the office, you’ll find our newly released seating range. We have created a bespoke chair display, highlighting the styles we have available for workspaces, collaboration areas, and dining/cafe spaces. Additionally, we have our Fabrics and Finishes library on show for clients to browse through after a tour of the showroom.
