Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Visitors Centre

Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park was created in July 2002 under the National Parks (Scotland) Act 2000 to safeguard an area of outstanding and diverse landscapes, habitats and communities, parts of which were coming under severe visitor and recreational pressures.

Flexiform were selected by top Scottish design house Graven Images to put forward a quotation for the furnishing of Carrochan, the new BREEAM-winning building for the headquarters of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Association. Carrochan is a two-storey structure with twin-pitched slate roofs. It embodies high standards in sustainability, including a biomass primary heating system, extensive use of natural materials, and most notably a native douglas fir timber structure.

Sustainable Office Furniture

All aspects of the building and interior was required to have a minimal carbon footprint, using natural materials where possible. From our initial quotation, we made it through to a shortlist that included the world’s largest manufacturers of office furniture. Our value for money products, and willingness to work with both the design team and client to provide products that met not only aesthetics and functionality but, also addressed price concerns, made Flexiform stand out among the high standard of competition.

Sustainability was also very high on the agenda; Flexiform as a company, and our products, had to meet strict criteria. A culmination of all elements, including a visit to our showroom, resulted in Flexiform being awarded the contract for a very high profile and public-facing facility.

Tailored Storage Solutions

Flexiform redeveloped products to meet the client’s requirements, including individual task lights that integrated with the high-density cable management system. The task lights are also attached directly to our desk framework, opposed to the normal method of clamping to the back of a desktop.

As part of the process, we undertook a detailed file survey analysis, to ensure that the filing systems installed met exactly with the requirements of each individual department. This greatly assisted in a seamless relocation into the new facility. Flexiform understands what is important to all of our clients, and strive to go the extra mile.
