Raynesway Construction has grown steadily from its turnover of £1 million in 1982 to an impressive £30 million in 2010. As a result, the business needed to expand and relocate into new offices at Westpoint Business Park in Paisley. Relocating to a new office would bring many benefits to the business, such as improved meeting facilities, and an efficient working environment. Having worked with TPS Scotland on previous Balfour Beatty offices, Flexiform were invited to tender for supply of a complete furniture and storage package for Raynesway Construction’s new head office.
Following showroom visits, selection processes, and further pricing exercises, Flexiform was awarded the contract to work with Raynesway, providing a complete furniture solution for 68 personnel.
Open Plan Offices
This included desking, executive furniture, boardroom and meeting tables, storage systems, seating, meeting seating, break out seating, and special oval tops on mid-height storage units which could double as layout and standing meeting areas. Flexiform developed and installed a bespoke ventilated laptop docking drawer, so that staff members could place their laptops in the docking station and then close and lock the drawer, keeping them secure. Orange acrylic screens were provided in certain areas to highlight the new hot-desking areas.
The project ran on time and was well within budget. To ensure that the floor grommets lined up as close as possible to the cable towers on the desks, we worked closely with the M&E contractor, and brought in an open framework of the desking system, marking out the locations for the grommets. Forward planning and thought overcame any potential issue normally associated with floor boxes and grommets.
Office Design Services
As part of the planning process, our survey teams undertook a detailed filing survey to ensure what was provided in the storage system met exactly the client’s needs. We have an in-house filing and space planning team that works closely with each client, to provide different options and identify the best solutions. Flexiform’s internal teams collaborated with the clients’ internal teams, facilities management teams, and architects, to deliver a full fit-out and supply project on time and on budget.
