At Flexiform, we are very passionate about investing in local communities, schools, and charities across all our hubs: West Yorkshire, London, and Scotland. We often support communities and schools by donating reused office furniture or holding fundraising events to raise money for charities chosen by our staff.
As Northern Powerhouse members, we take pride in the North. It’s our location for our manufacturing plant and offices, as well as the home to the majority of our workforce. All levels of our staff are involved in charities and as a company, we try our best to help. Our Managing Director, Nick Hewitt, sits on the board of Trustees for Nell Bank Community Centre, a community we have donated desking to for their classrooms. In the past, we have donated furniture to Timeout Children’s Home, CHAS @ St. Vincents, and more with our sister brand Asgard Secure Steel Storage. We’ve also hired University of Huddersfield photography students to take part in our photoshoots, giving them a chance to work with professional photographers and ask any questions. You can find details of all our community investments on our website.
This year, with the launch of our seating range, we sought out a local arts centre to donate fabric off cuttings. Shipley based Arts Community Centre, Hive, uses these fabric off cuttings for art projects and we were more than happy to donate ex-photoshoot furniture for their offices too.
“Andy came to see and also showed us around the factory which was amazing. They had loads of really good quality office furniture which they let us choose from and also delivered it for us. As a charity, these are the elements that we can’t afford to buy new so this has made a massive difference to our organisation.”
– Joy Hart, Hive Arts Centre.
Our Scotland Hub has donated showroom furniture to Who Cares? Scotland, helping them create a welcoming environment in their offices for young carers.
‘We’re grateful to Flexiform for donating furniture. This allowed us to make our young people’s room more youth-friendly and inviting. Without this donation, the room would have a corporate feel, which could put young people off…so thank you for helping us engage and support more care experienced young people!’
– Laura Campbell, Who Cares? Scotland.
As well as helping good causes as a company, our staff take part in many charity events across the UK. We’ve had staff taking part in a 26-mile hike and Brave the Shave for Macmillan Cancer Support, 5km Race for Life for Cancer Research, Bake Sales for Mind Mental Health, Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children, team charity bike rides, and our MD has run several marathons for charitable causes. Together, we hope to make a real difference to the community around each of our hubs, as well as supporting national charities which are important to us.
We are always looking for ways to help the local community. If you are a charity, school, or centre or know of one who requires furniture or fabric off cuttings, please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org.
