Flexiform is proud to have completed the office fit-out for a Railway Company in Yorkshire. The project focused on creating an agile workspace that encourages movement, collaboration, and wellbeing, supporting staff in choosing environments best suited to their tasks.
Our in-house space planning and design team delivered a flexible layout featuring a balance of private and open areas, tailored for solo work, small groups, and larger teams in both formal and informal settings. Acoustic partitioning ensures comfort, while inclusivity was central to the design, providing supportive environments for neurodiverse and disabled employees.
A calming atmosphere was achieved through a subtle colour palette, natural textures, and integrated biophilic elements. The addition of acoustic office pods, sound-absorbing panels, and Jot-Up height-adjustable desks further enhances flexibility and user comfort across the workspace.
Agile Working Furniture
With agile working central to the design strategy, selecting the right furniture was key. The Client carefully considered functionality, usability, aesthetics, and cost, curating a blend of products from Flexiform and trusted supply partners to support a flexible, responsive workspace.
Distinct pockets of workspace were created using FlexiGrid office shelving, freestanding acoustic baffles with adjustable upholstered uprights, and Freestor tambour storage with planters, helping to define zones, reduce noise, and add privacy. Each zone offered a unique tone and purpose: Orangebox Vale upholstered sofas paired with Pledge Box pouffes introduced soft, informal seating ideal for relaxed collaboration. The Channel work table, fitted with adjustable task lighting and paired with Miss Collaborative chairs, created a dynamic touchdown area for both focused work and teamwork. Another zone featured the Larke poseur-height work table with an overhead gantry and planters, accompanied by Miss wooden stools, offering a flexible team workspace. Lastly, Orangebox Coze meeting booths provided a soft, upholstered setting for informal meetings.
Office Meeting Pods
To support privacy and focused work, dedicated quiet spaces included single pods for video calls and a mixture of Orangebox Camper & Dens and Air collaborative pods. These meeting pods help define space, absorb noise, and offer comfortable, distraction-free environments for users both inside and nearby. All zones were kitted out with appropriate electrical charging points to support phone and laptop charging.
For solo working and informal meetings, a selection of Valido lounge chairs, X-Range coffee tables, and Connection Muse chairs were placed throughout the office, adding a relaxed and versatile seating option. The end result is a dynamic agile office fitout that is adaptable and flexible for all users.
