Extend the life of your office furniture with Flexiform’s reupholstery and refurbishment service. Ideal for office and commercial environments, reworking existing furniture offers a practical alternative to buying new, supporting a more circular approach to workplace design. By refreshing furniture rather than replacing it, businesses can transform their interiors while making better use of existing resources.
Retaining existing furniture and replacing worn fabrics, damaged components or tired finishes can reduce waste, limit the demand for new materials and help address Scope 3 emissions as part of your net zero targets. We offer a wide range of durable, sustainable fabrics to complement your updated interior, with options to suit different design schemes and functional requirements.
We work with skilled upholsterers, using local partners where possible to reduce transport mileage and support local expertise. From individual pieces to larger refurbishment projects, we focus on delivering a quality finish that extends furniture life and helps you get more from your existing assets. Our team can also assess furniture for repair or refurbishment, helping you identify what can be retained, renewed or replaced as part of your wider office transformation.
From a simple reupholster to replacing components, each project is unique. To maintain and guarantee quality, we assess the furniture individually before quoting.

As one of Scotland’s “greenest office developments,” 30 Semple Street sets new standards in sustainability, achieving BREEAM ‘Outstanding,’ a NABERS UK rating, and an EPC A certification. As sustainability was vital to this project, we reupholstered a significant number of meeting room chairs and Boss Design Lounge Chairs. Each chair underwent a specialist cleaning of the frames, arms, and backs to enhance hygiene and restore a “like-new” feel, allowing them to blend perfectly with a new matching order. We also reupholstered several lounge chairs in contemporary fabrics, giving them a refreshed, modern look.
“Flexiform played a pivotal role in bringing our new Edinburgh office at 30 Semple Street to life…We were particularly impressed by the care taken in reupholstering some of our existing furniture. This not only helped us maintain continuity across our workspaces but also supported our sustainability goals by giving high‑quality pieces a new lease of life rather than replacing them unnecessarily.” – Lorna Conn, Hymans Robertson
Alongside meeting and soft seating, we can refurbish and reconfigure existing desking and tables to suit changing workplace needs. From remanufacturing desk frames to create smaller workstations, to simply replacing table tops or frames to improve comfort and usability, our solutions are tailored to each project. As a UK furniture manufacturer, our in-house Design and Engineering team and factory can assess existing furniture and identify opportunities to retain, adapt or replace individual components, helping reduce costs, minimise waste and extend product life.
Our projects range from large-scale remanufacturing to smaller, targeted improvements. For a major high street retailer, we remanufactured existing steel underframes to create smaller desks, enabling the reuse of 700 workstations that would otherwise have become obsolete. At the Scottish National Investment Bank, we took a different approach, retaining existing table legs while replacing the tops and underframes as part of the workplace refurbishment. By assessing what can be kept and what needs to change, we help clients make better use of their existing furniture without compromising on functionality or design.
We can reupholster Flexiform furniture and furniture from other manufacturers, subject to inspection, helping you retain pieces that still have plenty of life left in them. Covering a wide range of meeting chairs, task chairs, soft seating and larger agile pieces of furniture, this comprehensive service reduces multiple trips and streamlines the process.
For our own UK made soft seating and chairs, we can also assess and refurbish damaged parts, restoring functionality and appearance without the need for full replacement. This can also extend to our supply partner ranges, subject to the piece of furniture, quantities and condition. After reupholstery, each piece is cleaned before returning to site, blending seamlessly into new furniture and refurbishment.
Whether you’re refreshing a single area or refurbishing an entire workplace, our team can help you make more of your existing furniture.
