ECA and BESA together make up ESCA whose members work across a variety of building trades are moving into a beautiful new workspace designed by Orbit Architects in Rotherwick house. Rotherwick House is a grade II listed Georgian building situated in a private cobbled courtyard near St Katherines Dock in London.
Flexiform’s Olio Desk and Storage range was selected to help compliment the beautiful aesthetics of the building and to promote an agile working environment which supports flexible working. The Olio desking and storage system can be configured uniquely to allow staff to work collaboratively and privately within the same space.
Agile working allows workers to not be constrained by the traditional 9-5 working, and are often encouraged to work in various areas within the work space, meaning that often staff don’t have one designated desk. This style of working is focused on performance and in many cases collaborate working between staff has been seen to improve workplace well being which can have an effect on productivity within the office.
Olio is a fully integrated storage and desking system which can be configured to suit the exact needs of your space, an obvious choice to be fitted beautifully into the character filled workspace within the Georgian building. Working with our in-house design and engineering team, bespoke acoustic soundproof inserts were fitted into the customisable panels on the Olio system to match the Era acoustic screens fitted between the desks. Bespoke dusty grey laminate work surface were specified to suit the interior design scheme.
We worked with Orbit Architects and Paragon Interiors group to create informal break out areas across the 20,000 ft space, some of which overlook an outdoor feature area. The office interior is made up of 3 levels with features such as exposed brick walls, an mezzanine which enhances the natural light flooding into the lower floors, and beautiful Georgian arched windows.
