Council Offices


Flexiform has recently completed the full office fit-out and installation of furniture for a Council located in South West England. The Grade II listed Headquarters installation was completed during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, bringing a new set of challenges for both Flexiform’s Manufacturing, Project Management, and Delivery teams, and the client’s in-house teams. 

The Flexiform Project Manager was integral to the installation, ensuring that communication between not only our in-house departments and on-site teams but the client teams were continuously informed and everyone was kept safe. The office fit-out includes a wide range of Flexiform products, including Additions 2 tables, Pico desks, booths, and stools.

Office desks

The workstations are made up of our Pico single desks completed with desk mounted monitor arms, power and data module, ergonomically designed task chair, and a comprehensive cable management system with sliding top and cable tray. The single office desks were to match in with existing desking installed on-site by Flexiform, giving continuity and flexibility to reconfigure and adapt the offices as the council’s needs change. At the end of each workstation lies our Jot Storage units, providing an easy-access storage solution for staff to store paperwork and to help keep a tidy workspace. The client opted for no screens, allowing staff to communicate and collaborate with each other freely for projects.

Collaboration is a theme throughout the open-plan office space, with booths and tables scattered throughout. The high back media booths provide a semi-private setting for those who need to break away from the workstations for meetings, group working, and 1-2-1’s. The acoustic backs aid in reducing noise and visual distractions that may arise throughout the open-plan space.

Round office meeting table

Our Additions silver pedestal tables in the collaboration area are in line with the chrome wired chairs, allowing staff to come together for projects and meetings. The Additions 2 poseur height meeting table and stools are perfect for quick team huddles and are fitted with power and data modules, allowing staff to bring their laptops with them.

However, for those that require a quiet working space for projects that require their full attention, our Encompass Individual work booths provide a space with minimal distractions and private space. The booth is fully enclosed with medium-height sound-absorbing walls, giving staff more privacy and a quieter space, yet still, feel open and light. The boardroom and meeting rooms feature our Additions Executive flip-top table and task chairs, allowing the client to rearrange the room for events if they need to, or store away taking up minimal space. Despite the challenges Flexiform faced during this project, the client is very happy with their new space. The office provides multiple comfortable workspaces that allow staff to work independently and collaborate when required.
