Flexiform continues our relationship with Leeds City Council, fitting out their new purpose-built headquarters for Refuge Services – Newmarket House. Bringing the architects, Hamson Barron Smith Architects’ plans to life, Flexiform installed a range of traditional desks, hotdesks, breakout & canteen spaces, and pockets of agile workspaces including pods, booths, collaborative tables and lockers.
Throughout the workspace, sustainability was at the forefront of the design, ensuring the furniture matched the building’s green credential. We reused and relocated furniture where possible and ensured each piece of new furniture was FSC approved and had high percentages of recycled content and recyclability. All the office furniture we installed was robust and designed to last in high traffic areas, with durable dark fabrics and easily wipeable chairs.
Standard Product Brochures & Portals
As Leeds CC are an ongoing client, a lot of their chosen office furniture was specified from their bespoke client brochure and online portal, ensuring consistency between various sites and enabling them to reuse and redistribute furniture throughout their estate. The Newmarket House office included their standard Pico back-to-back and side-to-side desks, Jot-up height adjustable sit/stand desks and Pico 120-degree boomerang desks utilised from a previous Merrion House installation. Flexiform then relocated furniture from the original Refuge Service’s Enterprise building they were leaving, into Merrion House. To maximise the furniture being re-used, we also relocated and redistributed their existing office storage.
To complete the Newmarket House installation, we installed a range of standard Leeds City Council solid oak table, meeting chairs and task chairs, plus office lockers including bespoke L shape lockers and 8 door office lockers with additional USB phone charging sockets. In addition to their standard office furniture, we installed a range of new enclosed pods and open workbooths offering private and semi-private meeting spaces throughout the office.
